I currently live in Scottsdale, Arizona. I grew up on Long Island, later studied Psychology at NAU, then married a Brazilian and moved to Rio de Janeiro where I stayed for ten years, from 1984 to 1994. Living in another culture truly opened my mind and helped me to understand people on a whole different level. I learned from the Brazilian people how to maintain a perfect balance of work, play and spirituality. It is very different from the frantic pace here in the United States.
My interests are varied and include traveling, motorcycling, bicycling, hiking, nature, yoga, music, meditation, reading, organic gardening, and environmental activism. I'm a gourmet cook with a knack for creating quick, balanced and delicious meals with organic ingredients. I have a wonderful daughter, Sharon, and I have two beautiful grandsons, Justin and baby Kyle (born on Easter Sunday 2007). I am also "mom" to an incorrigible Tibetan Spaniel named Taz.
Professionally I've done a number of things, from teaching English and interpreting, to sales and marketing, to telecommunications, to network design and project management. My true passion has always been nutrition and fitness as well as the metaphysical and intuitive arts. I love helping and teaching people. I've studied Astrology, Tarot, numerology, and am a Usui Reiki Master/Teacher. One of the reasons I became involved with Reiki and the healing arts in general is because I am a cancer survivor. I went through surgery and treatments which were very invasive, toxic and painful. During the long healing process, I came to understand that disease is primarily a product of lifestyle and repressed negative emotions, and that the best prevention and cure is a positive attitude and a healthy, low-stress lifestyle.
In 2005 I decided I needed to put my lifetime of knowledge and passion to its best use, and I followed my heart to become a Life Coach through the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. I feel as though I've finally come home and am doing what I came here to do - which is helping to heal our distressed world one person at a time.
It's a magical journey!
With love and light,
Suzanne
